Per i contadini della zona è più semplice buttare nel torrente gli involucri in plastica nera (che proteggono le radici delle piante che mettono nei campi) piuttosto che smaltirli secondo la legge… Quando il torrente è in piena li porta in mare e questo è il risultato…

For the peasants of the zone he is simpler to throw in the torrent the coverings in black plastic (than protect the roots of the plants that put in the fields) rather than smaltir them second the law… When the torrent is in flood , this is the result…

The trouble with plastic
October 16, 2009
Nature does not agree with plastic, and the feeling seems to be mutual.
Non-biodegradable, discarded plastic has the nasty habit to remain in circulation for a long time. Besides, it tends to float, and hence to accumulate. In this case, it could be told as a story of good intentions gone bad, as most of the plastic mass is composed of drinking sachets: small bags of much-needed clean drinking water, readily distributed at every street corner for reasonable prices. Quite possibly a lifesaver for a lot of people in tropical Africa, no doubt about that.
Once disposed of, and picked up by the sea, the sachet resembles a floating jellyfish. Or other food. Turtles turn out to be not too picky on how a tasty snack should look like. Most non-biodegradible tings are also non-digestible, and maybe even non-sensical. No, I’m sure of that.
So worries are in order, for this killer is a global one.
