The Planet trash page began work on Facebook on the 16 September 2010. It’s aims were:

To provide a visual map of world pollution i.e. lots of photos of plastic trash destroying our world.

To provide a platform for anti-plastic pollution groups and provide a series of links for those looking for more information on the subject and perhaps a group to work with.

I had hoped to collect a hundred.
