Giving Up Plastic in Vermont
My name is David McKay. I live in the Green Mountains of the state of Vermont, USA. I am an artist, a writer, and a teacher.
I became “aware” of plastics this year. Following the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit back in December of 2009, I realized that change is necessary, and so my New Year’s Resolution was to eliminate single-use plastics from my life. It is up to us, as a human race, one person at a time, to make a change towards sustainability. I am currently in graduate school to be a middle school English teacher. I hope to teach children to love reading and writing as well as to respect the only planet we have through living life responsibly.
